The Valid Reason Adam Levine Wishes Kelsea Ballerini Were “a Bigger Jerk” on The Voice
Levine is always thinking about strategy when it comes to his fellow Voice Coaches.
Adam Levine has only nice things to say about fellow The Voice Season 27 Coach Kelsea Ballerini. Which is hard, because he really wants to view her as his red-chair adversary!
Read why, below:
Kelsea Ballerini and Adam Levine have an Artist face-off on The Voice Battles
During the Blind Auditions, Chicago native Ari Camille got chair turns from John Legend and Michael Bublé, and chose Legend as her Coach. In the Battle round, Camille went up against Bryson Battle, whose incredible voice ultimately gave him a slight edge over Camille, putting her, potentially, on the chopping block. Seizing his opportunity, Levine pressed his button for a Steal, telling Camille, "I just became a fan, you know," before he was cut off by the sound of Ballerini, grinning, pressing her button, too.
"Adam, please continue," prompted Host Carson Daly, but Levine was already into a rant about Ballerini. "I thought I was gonna be able to just do it. And it would be like that," he said, making the button-hitting gesture. "But now you’re gonna make it complicated! But I love you. You’re perfect," he added, about Ballerini.
Predicting Ballerini's pitch to Camille, he continued, "She’s gonna say a bunch of really cools stuff, as well. And she’s really hard to fight against because she’s so lovely. It sucks. I wish she was a bigger jerk. But she’s not, she’s just so awesome." Basking in the compliments, Ballerini said, "I love this job!"
When it was her turn to sell herself as a Coach, Ballerini listed her four tenets of success (talent, work ethic, kindness, audacity) and said she saw all of them in Camille. But what she didn't see was that the Artist would end up choosing Team Adam. And the feud goes on.

During the Blinds, Ballerini used a Block to prevent Levine from snatching up artist BD.ii, though the move backfired, as the singer ended up going to Legend just as Camille had.
