Kelsea Ballerini's A Cappella Cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" Is Like a Fairytale

This stripped-down version is unabashedly Kelsea!

By Chris Phelan

If Kelsea Ballerini decides to perform Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" live on The Voice one day, absolutely nobody would complain — she can sing the iconic song flawlessly!

How to Watch

Watch The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

We've tracked down an old video of the current Season 27 Voice Coach covering the song in her bedroom that every music fan should experience. Somehow, Ballerini made the song even more poignant than the original, which is not an easy task.

The star takes fans on a vocal journey. Her little inflections, runs, and high notes pay tribute to her Nashville roots while still paying respect to Fleetwood Mac's original version. Stevie Nicks would be proud!

Ballerini's voice is beautiful enough on its own, but the 31-year-old playing guitar while singing makes this performance even more stunning! Her simple finger-picking makes the song even more emotional. She has an affinity for covering Fleetwood Mac songs and has been known to break out an amazing rendition of "Dreams" on tour.

A split of Kelsea Ballerini and Fleetwood Mac.

As the Battles continue on Season 27 of The Voice, viewers are experiencing firsthand how talented Ballerini is, not only as an artist, but also as a coach. Team Kelsea looks nearly unbeatable, and the rookie coach looks to win it all!

Fortunately, Ballerini will have a little help: she chose Little Big Town as her Battle Advisors! In an interview with ExtraTV, Ballerini called enlisting the group a "full circle" moment for her.

"I bought tickets to see them growing up, but also, they're my friends and they've mentored me," Ballerini explained. "And so to be able to be like, 'Here, 12 artists, here's a mentor that I know is a great mentor because they've been a mentor to me. And sisters, and brothers, and friends, and collaborators, and all those things over the years.' It's very, again, full circle."

Here's what to know about "Landslide"

Written by Nicks and released in 1975 off of Fleetwood Mac's self-titled album, "Landslide" remains one of the band's signature songs, with Nicks still performing the track live in concert today.

The song is still a critical darling 50 years after its original release. In 2021, Rolling Stone listed ''Landslide'' on the 163rd position on its ''500 Greatest Songs of All Time'' list, calling the song a ''stunning reflection of aging.'' In 2023, Paste ranked "Landslide" as the 13th-best song in Fleetwood Mac's entire discography, calling it a "stirring portrait of growth and love," and the "quintessential ballad of the 1970s."

"Landslide" has also been covered by The Chicks, Harry Styles, The Smashing Pumpkins, Panic! At The Disco, and Miley Cyrus, among others.
