Hear the “Hard-to-Nail,” “Stunning” High Note That Won Britton Moore His Battle
The Voice Battles are starting to heat up!
Hitting a high note in front of the king of falsetto, Adam Levine, has got to be nerve-wracking, but Britton Moore pulled it off with ease. The young singer impressed his Coach during the first Battle of The Voice Season 27 with a soaring performance well beyond his years.
Britton Moore's The Voice Battle
Along with his team's Battle Advisor (and high school friend) Kate Hudson, Levine chose Radiohead's "Creep" for the first face-off of the season, pitting Moore against fellow Artist Darius J. "The song 'Creep' is really about being an outsider," Moore explained, as Hudson urged him to be "more emotional" in his delivery.
Levine changed the arrangement from electric to acoustic to get away from the fuller orchestrations of the Radiohead version, and both singers really connected. “You hit this note that was so beautiful I wanted you to stay on it and not trail down," advised Hudson.
After their performance, Coach Kelsea Ballerini called Moore a "boy next door" type, while Coach Michael Bublé said, "You hit that top note!" Levine noted that Moore has the "unique problem" of having so many skills he sometimes needs to pull back, while Coach John Legend said, “Your voice is so connected and powerful. That high note was stunning. I would pick Britton.”
That's exactly what happened, with Moore staying on Team Adam. Don't worry, though: Darius J. got scooped up in a Steal!

Moore, who is 21 and from San Antonio, impressed the Coaches during his Blind Audition singing "Yellow" by Coldplay. He was barely a line into the song when Levine pressed his button, and by the end, he'd scored all four chairs. As frontman of Maroon 5, Levine is no stranger to high notes and told Moore, "I just felt like an instant connection with you."

"Singing falsetto is actually really hard in a live setting. I always tell my Artists, ‘Your falsetto will betray you when you need it most.' And yours did not. It would be so fun to coach you," added Legend.
You can watch The Voice Season 27 on Mondays at 8/7c on NBC. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
