Before White Lotus, Blackpink's LISA Made Her Solo Debut on The Tonight Show: Watch
The Thailand-born K-Pop star plays Mook on Season 3 of the hit series.
Before making her acting debut as Mook on The White Lotus Season 3, LISA was world-famous to another fandom: Those who love K-pop. LISA, a Thailand native, is a member of South Korean girl group Blackpink, known for international hits like "Ice Cream" and "Boombayah."
And LISA made her solo singing debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
To celebrate the release of her "Lalisa" single, the K-Pop star performed on The Tonight Show in September 2021, serving her signature vocal and rapping skills along with some killer choreography. Watch LISA debut her "Lalisa" single on The Tonight Show above.
Speaking with Billboard about her debut single, LISA said she wanted "Thai vibes in it," explaining how producer Teddy Parks "actually put some Thai traditional music into the dance break."

"This is my first solo, and I want to represent that I’m Thai to all the fans around the world," she continued. "People don’t really know that Lalisa is my real name, because they just know me as LISA from Blackpink. So I’m really happy that I get to do this project with the title Lalisa."

While LISA is still with Blackpink, she released her debut album, Alter Ego, on February 28, 2025. That same weekend, she performed in a James Bond medley with Doja Cat and RAYE — who are also featured on Alter Ego — at the 2025 Academy Awards. LISA made Hollywood history as the first K-Pop star to perform at the Oscars.

In White Lotus Season 3, LISA plays Mook, a wellness expert and performer at The White Lotus Thailand resort.
“It is my first acting [experience] so I don’t know what to expect on set, but everybody just being so supportive helped me a lot. So thank you, everyone," she told Variety, adding that her nerves got the best of her when writer-director Mike White first yelled "action."
“I’m so nervous. I was sweating. I was like, ‘I can’t remember my lines.’ I blanked," she recalled.

Meanwhile, LISA's White Lotus co-star Walton Goggins praised the singer-turned-actress, telling USA Today, "Just knowing her as this Blackpink performer, as most of the world knows her, who can do all of these things. And then to see her step into this role around a bunch of seasoned actors. She did it effortlessly."
"That transition from her stage persona was seamless," Goggins added.
