Michael Bublé Totally Shocked a Fan When He Popped Into a Pub on St. Patrick’s Day
“I can’t believe this is happening,” the surprised fan said as The Voice Coach gave her a big hug.
There's no doubt about it, Michael Bublé is a proud Canadian. He loves hockey so much he has an ice rink in his basement and can whip up a mean Bloody Caesar, the country’s national drink. But The Voice Coach has also been known to go all out for Ireland’s biggest holiday, St. Patrick’s Day.
Whether he’s wearing a glittery green hat and drinking out of a green mug, like he did in 2021, or he’s gushing about his Irish fans or he’s sharing a special St. Patrick’s Day message, Bublé often commemorates the March 17th holiday. One year, in fact, Bublé surprised one of his fans at her Irish pub to have a pint of Guinness.

Michael Bublé shared a pint of Guinness with a fan on St. Patrick’s Day
On March 17, 2023, Bublé was in Hamburg, Germany during his Higher Tour. A fan of Bublé’s, Audrey Leeves, had previously invited him over Twitter to have a pint of beer at her bar, the Fleetenkieker Irish Pub, whenever his tour took him to the German city. “Yes, I’d love to come to your Irish pub for a pint of Guinness!” the singer responded. And, one year later, Bublé took Leeves up on the invite.
“What is more Irish than being in Hamburg, Germany for St. Patrick’s Day?” Bublé joked in a video posted on TikTok, going on to share the story of how he and Leeves first connected. “It’s happening, we’re here, she doesn’t know I’m coming, I don’t even know if she’s gonna be there. But, hey, what a good excuse to have a drink. Woohoo, let’s go!”
As Bublé walked into the pub, Leeves’ eyes widened as she clutched her heart and then covered her mouth in complete shock. “I can’t believe this is happening,” she said as Bublé gave her a big hug. “We did it, we’re here!” Bublé (wearing a green baseball hat and sweatshirt) added.
Then, as they first discussed over Twitter, Bublé and his fan said, "Cheers!” over a pint of Guinness together.

Leeves, who’s originally from Ireland, later told Today FM that she never expected Bublé to show up at her pub. “One of our waitresses came to [kitchen] and said, ‘There’s a Mike at the door for you.’ And I said, ‘Mike? I don’t know any Mikes,’” she recalled. “I came out of the kitchen and I went towards the door and there he was, standing, like the good person he is, waiting.”
Leeves said she remembered Bublé saying, “Happy St. Patty’s Day, Audrey, I’m here to have that Guinness with you!” Leeves added that Bublé spent about 20 minutes at the pub before he had to head off to soundcheck for his show later that evening. “He’s a great hugger!” she told Today FM. “He is lovely. He really, really is.”
