The Beautiful Meaning Behind Savannah Guthrie's Tiny New Tattoo (VIDEO)
The TODAY co-anchor's latest tattoo was designed by two people near and dear to her heart.
Savannah Guthrie is in a celebratory mood!
During the March 11 edition of TODAY, she revealed to viewers that she recently got her second tattoo while hanging out with none other than Drew Barrymore. As it turns out, Guthrie wanted to celebrate the success of her new children’s book and she did so by getting another tattoo during an appearance on Barrymore’s show.
Guthrie wrapped up her book tour for Mostly What God Does is Love You in February and couldn't think of a better way to commemorate her literary success than by getting one of the sweetest tattoos ever: Two small hearts on the inside of her forearm.
But that's not the best part about Guthrie's fresh ink. The design itself was a creation by two very talented young artists. The two small hearts were actually designed by her two kids, Vale and Charley. That’s right; the tattoo artist used the kids’ hand-drawn masterpieces to create a permanent work of art, making it extra special for Guthrie.
"It's cute, I know, I'm done though," she said to her colleagues, referring to being done with tattoos now. "I swear."

Longtime TODAY fans know that this isn't Guthrie’s first rodeo when it comes to getting tattoos with Barrymore. In 2023, the star got her first-ever tattoo — the words “all my love” written in an "exact carbon copy" of her father’s handwriting — alongside the 50 First Dates star, who opted for her 11th.
"He wrote a love letter to my mom and this is his writing," Guthrie said. "And, so that’s the first time in my life, I'm 51 years old, that I've had a tattoo, that I ever wanted a tattoo. And it's not only his writing, so he's with me, but I'm trying to make it my mantra for life."
So far, Guthrie is two-for-two with her fantastic tattoos!
What is Savannah Guthrie’s new book about?
Guthrie's latest book, Mostly What God Does is Love You, was released on February 25 and serves as a followup of sorts to her 2024 New York Times #1 best-selling collection of essays, Mostly What God Does. While the latter project focused on adult readers, her latest book is decidedly kid-centric — and extremely popular thus far!
On March 6, Carson Daly had the privilege to reveal to Guthrie live on-air that Mostly What God Does is Love You officially reached #1 on the New York Times best-seller list:
