Reba McEntire Looks So Glam with an Extra-Short, Strawberry Blonde Pixie Haircut
This throwback photo of the Happy's Place star will give you major hair inspiration.
Nobody rocked a pixie cut better than Reba McEntire in the late '90s.
Want proof? Look no further than this photo taken December 9, 1998 during McEntire's concert in San Jose, California. For the occasion, the Happy's Place star and Coach alum for The Voice rocked one of her most varied hairstyles yet (and she's had a lot of them): a strawberry blonde pixie cut with wispy side bangs. So cute!
From her current long red hair to a super-curly, ear-length cut, McEntire isn't afraid to switch up her look when she wants to. In the mid-'90s, this came in the form of her chopping off her hair completely, something the country icon described to Glamour as "freedom."
Why Reba McEntire chopped off her hair in the late '90s
"I loved it," she told the outlet about her shorter hair back then. "It was in '96 or '97 when I cut my hair off, and it was freeing. But you know what? I had to talk to my management and my stylist who did my hair, because it took almost a year for me to talk them into letting me cut my hair. They told me my hair was my image. 'You got your big hair all jacked up to Jesus. You can't cut your hair off.' And I said, 'Well, it'll give you something else to talk about.' And they said, 'Oh, okay. That's an idea.' So we did."

McEntire does admit to one misstep with her hair: She regrets her early-career perm, as it made her naturally curly hair look "angry."

"In the early '80s I got a perm," she explained. "I have natural curly hair. And so when my hair would be a little past my shoulders with a perm, it was just super tight because if you add a perm to natural curly hair, it looks angry. And it did."
