Reba McEntire Is Gorgeous Rocking Super-Short, Curly, Ear-Length Hair

This throwback hairstyle from the Queen of Country is one of her most iconic.

Reba McEntire is a hairstyle chameleon, and this throwback photo proves it.

How to Watch

Watch Happy’s Place Fridays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

One of our all-time favorite looks from the Happy's Place star happened during the 60th Anniversary Grand Ole Opry special in 1985. During that event, McEntire rocked a super-curly, ear-length haircut that is very '80s  — and gorgeous.

See for yourself in the photo, below. McEntire's haircut largely stops right by her ears, with a few wispy tresses touching the top of her neck.

The Queen of Country Music has had many iconic hairstyles over the years, from the long curls of her childhood to gelling her hair back like Elvis in 2020. McEntire is not afraid to change up her look when she feels the need to, and she looks great no matter how her hair is styled.

McEntire is joined in this photo by an old friend: country music icon Dolly Parton, who the former Voice Coach has performed alongside many times throughout her career.

Reba McEntire talks her friendship with Dolly Parton

Few things in the music industry are as dear to McEntire's heart as her relationship with Dolly Parton. In a 2023 interview with Newsweek, McEntire explained that Parton is more than just a close friend. She's also one of her biggest musical influences.

"I grew up listening to Dolly Parton, when she had her very first album, My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy," she explained. "I love that album because she wrote songs and told a story. I like a song that tells a story."

Unsurprisingly, McEntire and Parton have very similar outlooks not just as artists, but as people. They're definitely cut from the same cloth!

"Dolly and I, we just love, we're not here to judge or to preach — we love what we get to do," McEntire confessed.

Despite being so close, McEntire shockingly doesn't have Parton's phone number. In fact, not many people do. During a 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens: Live, McEntire confessed to Andy Cohen that the two communicate via fax!

"Fax," McEntire told Host Andy Cohen about how she gets in touch with Parton. "I don't have her telephone number. And I asked Kenny Rogers one time, I said, 'Do you have Dolly's number?' he said, 'No.'"
