Reba McEntire Will Be the Mega Mentor on The Voice Season 23—Get the Details
McEntire returns after serving as a Battle Advisor to Team Blake in Season 1 of The Voice.
If Season 23 of The Voice wasn't exciting enough, the competition has been taken to the next level now that legend, icon, and all-around powerhouse Reba McEntire will serve as the Mega Mentor.
McEntire will join Season 23 Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper, jumping into the action to mentor the Artists for the Knockout rounds that begin April 17. And make no mistake: McEntire isn't a Voice rookie. She was a Battle Advisor to Team Blake during Season 1, which makes her return all the more perfect for Shelton's final season in the red chair.
How will McEntire guide Artists on the path to success? We can't wait to find out, and with a resume like McEntire's, she knows a thing or two about victory. McEntire is a superstar on film, TV, and the stage, a true powerhouse performer in all industries. The "Can't Even Get the Blues" singer has 35 career #1 singles and more than 58 million albums sold worldwide, so her insight is bound to be amazing for the next lineup of Artists.
McEntire is always grinding, recently earning a 60th Top 10 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, extending her record for the most Top 10 hits among female Artists. McEntire's list of awards and accomplishments is never-ending as the proud recipient of 16 ACM Awards, 15 American Music Awards, nine People’s Choice Awards, six CMA Awards, three Grammy Awards, and a GMA Dove Award. Is anyone more qualified for the title of Mega Mentor than McEntire? We don't think so.
As fans prepare for the arrival of The Voice's country queen, the Coaches have revealed they're not letting Shelton's final season sway them from the crown. Especially his longtime rival, Clarkson, who is looking forward to giving Shelton the send-off he deserves.
"I actually have been talking to Blake a bit about this being his last season. And I'm like, 'It's not gonna hit you until afterwards. It's gonna hit you. It's been a part of your life for so long. And it's gonna hit you after,'" Clarkson told NBC Insider. "I think he knows that, but I also think he knows that it's time. He's been doing it a long time, and I think it's a really cool way that we all know he's leaving so we get the time to, like—I mean, I can't stand him, but I also love him."
She continued, "So we get the time to actually, like, lift him up and say how great he is. He is the ultimate Coach on this show. Everybody knows that. He's won the most, and he, honest to God, helps the Artists afterwards. And it's an incredible thing that he's done for so many Artists. It's a loss for The Voice."
Watch The Voice on Peacock and NBC. Season 23 premieres Monday, March 6 at 8/7c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
