Why Reba McEntire’s Favorite Place to Be Alone Is in the Bathroom
This makes us love her even more.
Fans have long felt a kinship to Reba McEntire, whether from watching her on shows like The Voice and Happy’s Place or just listening to her music over the years. There’s just something so relatable about the star, and in a November 2024 interview with Glamour, fans discovered just how true that really is.
The Queen of Country Music was refreshingly honest when she revealed her favorite place to be alone: In the bathroom!
“My favorite place to just be by myself is on the toilet,” she confessed. “I’ll get my phone, my glasses, just go lock the door and sit on the toilet because it’s the quiet place.”
McEntire’s reasoning was simple: locking yourself in the bathroom is a fool-proof, guaranteed way to get much-deserved privacy whenever needed.
“Nobody can reach you, nobody’s going to bother you,” McEntire explained. “But it works every time.”

We can’t fault her logic!
The interview wasn’t entirely about McEntire’s affinity for the bathroom, however. The music icon touched on her continued career success and credited the strong women in her life for getting her to where she is today — and McEntire is not done learning yet!
“I came from a very strong pack of women: my grandmother, my aunts, my cousins, my sisters, my teachers,” she said. “I’m very blessed to be able to have gotten to spend time with strong women. That’s why I gravitate to people like Dolly Parton. I want to continue to learn.”

After the pilot episode brought in over 17 million viewers since it first aired in October 2024, NBC announced on February 20 that Happy’s Place would be returning for a second season — and we’re sure Season 2 will build upon the first’s success.
Starring McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn (McEntire’s real-life boyfriend!), Happy’s Place has quickly gained comfort-watch status from fans and critics alike.
Early in Season 1, Variety described the sitcom as “nostalgic, funny, and heartfelt,” adding that “it has the heart, fun, and familiarity” — and fans couldn’t stop tuning in.
McEntire has been an integral part of the NBC family for years. So, if we can’t have the country music icon sitting in one of the Coach Chairs on The Voice every year, we’re happy to have her continue to steal the show in Happy’s Place in the foreseeable future!
