Watch Shane Gillis's SNL Monologue and Sketches from March 1, 2025
The night included a hilarious twist on The Voice from Please Don't Destroy and a parody ad for "CouplaBeers."
Actor and comedian Shane Gillis just followed Timothée Chalamet and Nate Bargatze to become the third Season 49 Host back for Season 50. His March 1, 2025 episode — the first since February 16's 50th anniversary show — brought a new 8-minute stand-up monologue in which he pondered whether Donald Trump may be confusing Greenland with Iceland and did a very niche bit about Ken Burns' 1990 The Civil War documentary.
The evening also brought a fresh Please Don't Destroy short, The Sound, which leveraged The Voice's chair turns to hilarious effect, a parody commercial for a medication called "CouplaBeers," and a cold open that featured SNL alum Mike Myers playing Elon Musk. And Gillis wasn't the only Season 49 guest who came back last night: Singer Tate McRae was Musical Guest for her second time, performing "Sports car" and "Dear god."
Watch every sketch from Shane Gillis's March 1 episode, and his monologue, below.
"Elon Musk cold open"

Weeks after his welcome appearance as "Coffee Talk"'s Linda Richman on SNL50: The Anniversary Special, former cast member Mike Myers made a surprise cameo in the March 1 cold open. And he brought a killer impression of billionaire and Donald Trump right-hand Elon Trump with him.

"Winery Tour"

A man (Shane Gillis) introduces his girlfriend (Heidi Gardner) to his parents (Andrew Dismukes and Ashley Padilla) on a winery tour — but their quality time is derailed by her influencer aspirations.
"Mid-Day News 2"

A broadcast from a quartet of news anchors (Shane Gillis, Ego Nwodim, Kenan Thompson, and Heidi Gardner) devolves into an unusual competition live on air.
"Dad's House"

Mirroring a word-of-the-day children's show format a la "Mister Robinson's Neighborhood," Gillis plays a divorced father welcoming an audience to "Dad's House," where he's spending a weekend with his kids (Andrew Dismukes and Sarah Sherman).
"CouplaBeers"

"CouplaBeers is a revolutionary medicine that treats anxiety and depression fast. And within minutes of taking it, I'm back to my old self — and my confidence is through the roof," Gillis says in the ad parody, though he admits one side effect: "the only thing you really remember after a while is to take it."
"Please Don't Destroy: The Sound"
Ben Marshall, John Higgins, and Martin Herlihy left the SNL offices to play a trio of musicians in this unique (chair) spin on The Voice.

"Wedding Interruption"

A couple (Devon Walker and Sarah Sherman) has their wedding objected to by the bride's ex-boyfriend (Gillis).
"Doctor's Visit"

Things get awkward when a patient (Shane Gillis) runs into an eighth grade classmate (Emil Wakim) — who's now his doctor.
