Is SNL new tonight, March 1, 2025?
Yes! The March 1 episode of SNL is all-new, and will be hosted by comedian Shane Gillis, with Musical Guest Tate McRae.
This is Gillis' second time on the Studio 8H stage in just a little over a year. The stand-up comedian made his SNL hosting debut on February 24, 2024. In his original appearance, Gillis was featured in multiple hilarious sketches like "HR Meeting," "Fugliana," and even a dark parody of the LiMu Emu & Doug insurance commercials.
Tate McRae is the Musical Guest for the March 1 episode, celebrating the release of her new hit album, So Close to What. The "Sports Car" singer was previously the Musical Guest on the November 18, 2023 episode hosted by Jason Momoa.
Lady Gaga hosts SNL on March 8
Get ready for back-to-back new episodes of SNL. After Gillis' turn on March 1, Lady Gaga will host the March 8 episode, pulling double duty as both Host and Musical Guest. This will be the second time Mother Monster has been both SNL Host and Musical Guest, with the first time being November 16, 2013.
Gaga is hosting SNL the day after her latest studio album, Mayhem, drops on Friday, March 7. She's released two songs from the album so far, "Disease" and "Abracadabra," with the latter track reaching number-13 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
"This album was more of a return to an earlier process—I love the mixture of live instrumentation and programming," Gaga told InStyle. "So we did a lot of that. And that's really fun, especially when you start experimenting with different ways of playing with analog instruments. You can just make really interesting, unique, and never-before-heard sounds. So that was amazing."
