Mark-Paul Gosselaar's Sir Has a Shocking New Ally on Found — and It's [SPOILER]?!

Even psychopaths have a right to an attorney...

By Josh Weiss

**SPOILER WARNING! The following contains major spoilers for Found Season 2, Episode 15!**

Even the worst psychopaths have a right to legal representation, as evidenced by tonight's Found, Season 2, Episode 15, "Missing While Seeking Asylum."

How to Watch

Watch Found Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Despite the fact that Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) seemed to resign himself to the start of what was shaping up to be a lengthy prison sentence, a surprise character has decided to take on his case, pro bono, and without being asked. That person is none other than Detective Mark Trent's (Brett Dalton) mysterious new love interest, Heather Tollin (Danielle Savre), whom viewers met in the midseason return in January.

But why is Trent's girlfriend — who was allegedly shot in the arm by Christian Evans not too long ago — representing the series' main antagonist? What could she possibly gain by standing next to a high-profile and criminally radioactive client like Sir? Why would she figuratively stab Trent in the back like this?

NBC Insider got to ask Savre that very question over a recent Zoom call...

Why is Danielle Savre's character Heather representing Sir in Season 2 of Found?

Heather (Danielle Sarve) sits at a table in a holding cell on Found Episode 215.

"I think that really will be linked to the trauma in her past," Savre told NBC Insider. "Her past as a whole will be why she chooses to defend those that, for all intents and purposes, shouldn't be defended. Why does she make that decision to go, ‘This is somebody I want to represent and give them a fair chance at a trial’? Considering she respects and admires Gabi so much for what Gabi does, why would she choose to be on the opposing side? Is it just that desire and ambition to win? Is that where that comes from? What is really fueling her and why does this case matter to her so much? Is it just that she wants to move her way up the ladder or does she really have something more deep-seated in why she wants to represent him?"

Speaking with us on a separate call showrunner, and executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll described Heather as the perfect foil for Gabi Mosely (Shanola Hampton), stating: "Like all the females on the show, she’s badass. She’s a badass, she’s complicated — she's a lawyer and a very good one. She’s also unapologetic about the way she moves through life, the way she pursues the things she wants, and what she’s willing to do to get them."

Carroll continued: "She genuinely has taken a liking to Trent and we’ve watched [him] chase after Gabi for all of Season 1. He had a lot of stuff to get over in the first half of this season, with finding out she hadn’t been honest with him about Sir and everything. Their relationship is so complicated and now you add to that a woman who is not afraid to air her feelings for him, is not afraid to stake her claim. That just adds for some fun and there’s no one better to play this character than Danielle, who’s just been an absolute gift to the show."

New episodes of Found air Thursdays on NBC at 10 p.m. ET and stream next day on Peacock.
