A Voice Chair Glitch Made Adam Levine Say, “What the Hell Was That?”
Did The Voice chairs have a little hiccup in the March 3 episode?
The spinning red chairs are one of the most recognizable hallmarks of The Voice...but what happens when they don't spin? The four Coaches of Season 27 encountered a small technical chair issue during the March 3 Blind Auditions episode, which thankfully didn't interrupt the process too much. But it did give Coach Adam Levine a bit of a fright!
The Voice Coaches blamed Michael Bublé for a chair mishap
During the fifth and final round of Blind Auditions, as an Artist left the stage and all four Coaches were being turned around to reset for the next singer, the chairs suddenly stopped mid-track. "What the hell was that?" asked Levine, while Coach John Legend immediately pointed fingers, asking, "Did you just break the chair, Michael Bublé?"
A moment later, the chairs completed their reset, and the show continued. Crisis averted!

Adam Levine hilariously hates his chair this season on The Voice
And it's not because of the glitch. He's in the seat once vacated by his old rival Blake Shelton, and he joked during the Blinds, "I miss Blake...I’m in his mangy, musty chair."

The Coach chairs on The Voice are huge
Weighing in at a whopping 755 pounds each, the chairs are enormous, with the following dimensions:
- Width – 4’
- Height – 7’4”
- Depth – 4’
They also boast a number of special features, like cup holders and heated seats, and it's not just a motor inside doing the spinning. The mechanics are controlled by:
- Over 200 feet of electrical cable throughout the interior body and base of the chair.
- An electrical motor that weighs in at only 3 pounds, and is capable of moving over 1,000 pounds at a rate of up to 1,500 rpms.
- Three levels of safety programed into its operation controller that ensures it will not spin past the 180-degree point.
That's...a lot of chair!
