What Are Saves on The Voice & How Many Do Coaches Get in Season 27 Battles

The Voice Coaches can keep their talented Artists in the game with a special move.

By Kaitlin Kimont

Adam Levine, Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Kelsea Ballerini are heading to the Battles with their teams on The Voice Season 27.

How to Watch

Watch The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

As fans know all too well, every stage of The Voice comes with some difficult goodbyes until the season’s winner is named. But thanks to a handy maneuver, the Coaches can keep their talented Artists in the game.

As The Voice kicks off the Battles round in Season 27 on March 10, the Coaches will select two Artists on their team to perform a song together. After their performance, their Coach has to decide which one will advance to the next round, the Knockouts. The eliminated Artist, however, can be “saved” if their Coach chooses to use one of their secret weapons.

So how exactly do Saves work on The Voice? Read on to find out all the details, including how many Saves each Coach can use during the Battles in Season 27.

What are Saves on The Voice?

Saves on The Voice allow a Coach to keep an Artist who’d otherwise be eliminated on their team.

Following a Battles performance between two Artists on the same team, their Coach has to choose just one to advance to the next round. But with a Save, a Coach can keep the eliminated Artist on their team.

How many Saves do the Coaches get for The Voice Season 27 Battles round?

In The Voice Season 27, each Coach gets one Save during the Battles round.

Levine, Bublé, Legend, and Ballerini are already protective of their teams and competitive as ever this season, so that coveted Save will certainly come in handy during the Battles if they choose to use it.

“I’m ready to win for Team Legend this season,” the “All of Me” singer and Grammy winner, who’s returned for his 10th season on The Voice, said in a behind-the-scenes interview. “I love my team … I’m so excited to work with them.”

And Ballerini, this season’s rookie Coach, has even brought in The Voice OG Blake Shelton as “backup” — in the form of a sassy button on her red chair, that is.
