Is there a new Dateline on tonight, March 7, 2025?
Yes! A new episode of Dateline airs on Friday, March 7, at 9/8c on NBC.
In Friday’s two-hour special, Dateline correspondent Keith Morrison speaks with convicted murderer Lori Vallow Daybell from prison for her first TV interview.
In 2023, Vallow Daybell was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after an Idaho jury found her, as well as her husband Chad Daybell, guilty of murdering her children, 16-year-old daughter Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old son J.J. Vallow. They were both also convicted for their roles in the death of Chad Daybell’s first wife, Tammy.
Vallow Daybell, often referred to as “Doomsday Mom,” maintains her innocence while speaking with Morrison, telling him in Dateline’s exclusive interview that she believes she and her husband will both be exonerated.
“I will be exonerated. We will both be exonerated in the future,” Vallow Daybell says in a preview for Dateline’s March 7 special, “Lori Vallow Daybell: The Jailhouse Interview.”
When Morrison asks her why she thinks that, Vallow Daybell says “Jesus showed” her the future. “I have seen things in the future that Jesus showed me when I was in heaven,” she tells Morrison. “And we were not in jail and we were not in prison and they were still in the future, from now.”
Morrison also speaks with Vallow Daybell’s son and only surviving child, Colby Ryan, about how his mother’s actions have impacted him. “I guess I was always a very positive, see the best in people kind of person,” he tells Morrison in an exclusive interview. “And then I watched someone that I knew my entire life do what she did. And it just changed the way I view people.”
Dateline’s new episode also features interviews with retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Doug Hart, Madison County Sheriff Ron Ball, and Detective Ray Hermosilla.
In recent years, Dateline has covered the Vallow–Daybell doomsday murders case extensively, including on Dateline: Unforgettable and Dateline’s Mommy Doomsday podcast, also hosted by Morrison.
