Suits LA Creator Says Meghan Markle is Welcome Back At Anytime

Markle famously exited the hit USA series following her engagement to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

Will Rachel Zane ever return to the Suits universe?

How to Watch

Watch Suits: LA Sundays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

That's the million-dollar question fans have been asking ever since Meghan Markle famously exited the hit legal series and the actress's real-world engagement to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. While Rachel's husband, eidetic wonder boy Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), made sporadic appearances throughout the final two seasons, his better half was nowhere to be seen — not even when Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) officially tied the knot in the very last episode.

Meghan Markle is welcome to return to Suits universe any time

Speaking with People at the world premiere of Suits LA (new episodes air on NBC every Sunday evening), franchise mastermind Aaron Korsh stated that Markle is more than welcome to step back into the world any time — either as Rachel or as her royal persona. The latter option isn't too far-fetched by any stretch of the imagination, considering the West Coast spinoff features celebrity cameos from the likes of Patton Oswalt and the late John Amos, who play themselves as high-profile clients of the Black Lane law firm.

"We have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor,” Korsh admitted. “I think for me that's a little ... My brain blows up at the thought of that. So I think it blows up the world too much. Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.”

When asked for her thoughts on the new show in a separate interview with People, Markle proclaimed: “I love that it gets a new breath of fresh air.” She didn't talk about making a potential guest spot on Suits LA, but did briefly reminisce about her time on the original iteration, adding: “It’s a time capsule for me — I still have the pencil skirt from the first episode! That’s the one thing I kept."

For the time being, viewers will have to be satisfied with the return of Harvey Specter and at least one more OG character.
