One of the best basketball players ever will join Jenna Bush Hager as the next TODAY with Jenna & Friends co-host!

How to Watch

Watch TODAY weekdays at 7AM ET on NBC.

As usual for the fourth hour of TODAY, the latest guest co-host announcement was made via an Instagram post in the form of an adorable text message thread on March 6 — and it was revealed that none other than NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade will be joining Hager not just for one day, but for the whole week beginning March 10.

"We're beyond excited to have @dwyanewade joining us for a wholeeee week starting Monday, March 10! #JennaandFriends," the caption read.

What a treat for fans of the show! Hager's guest list has been impressive thus far (everyone from Scarlett Johanssen to Password's Keke Palmer to Saturday Night Live's Mikey Day has stopped by).

Wade's list of on-court accolades is mind-blowing. A 13-time All-Star who averaged 22 points per game over his 17-year career, he won three NBA Championships, all as a member of the Miami Heat. He also has an Olympic gold medal from his time spent in Beijing in 2008.

In 2021, he was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, a celebration of the top 75 players ever. And if that distinction wasn't enough, just two years later, Wade was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023, further cementing his status as one of the best ever to lace up a pair of sneakers.

So let's just say that it may not go too well for Hager if she challenges her newest co-host to a game of one-on-one.

Here's what to know about Dwyane Wade and his family

After tying the knot in 2014 and welcoming their daughter Kaavia James Union Wade in 2018, Wade and actress Gabrielle Union have built a family together. They first met at a Super Bowl party in 2007, an event they both co-hosted.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Union reminisced about their first encounter at the party, joking about her husband's serious nature. "I stayed on one side of the room with my people," she recalled. "We like to party, and he doesn't drink at all. He was on the other side of the room holding Bible study."

Their relationship blossomed as they created a blended family, co-authored a children's book, and more!

Although Union never expected to have children, she told the outlet that her love for her kids inspired her first children's book, which she describes as a "love letter to every non-traditional family, including blended families. No matter how you became a new family, it is beautiful and real."

Aside from sharing Kaavia with Union, Wade has three children from prior relationships: Zaire Blessing Dwyane Wade, Zaya Wade, and Xavier Zechariah Wade.
