Adam Levine Balancing a Sword on His Nose Is Something You Must See to Believe

The Voice Coach is showing off a wild skill in the latest episode.

By Elizabeth Logan

Adam Levine might be on the wrong show. Though the OG Coach just returned to The Voice for Season 27, it seems like he belongs on America's Got Talent, where he can show off his incredible balancing trick. Who knew the Maroon 5 singer had such a way with swords?

Barry Jean Fontenot gifted all four Coaches wooden swords

How to Watch

Watch The Voice on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

A self-described "ultimate nerd," Motown singer Barry Jean Fontenot was eager to share his hobby with The Voice viewers, saying that he has a private collection of fifteen unique swords. "I hope to be like some of my swords," he joked as he took the stage.

Fontenot knew having a Coach would massively help with his "stage presence," though when he sang the "absolutely timeless" song "I Wish It Would Rain" by The Temptations, he was already pretty present, and got a chair turn from Michael Bublé! "I'm more excited about working with him than any other person in this contest," Bublé said.

Eager to share his interest in history, Fontenot then gave each of the four Coaches a wooden sword emblazoned with their name. He explained that it is a rudis, which, according to some deeper sword history, is "received by a gladiator who achieved earning his freedom or retirement."

"Well this is gonna make the Battle Rounds interesting," quipped Bublé. "Anyone that gives me a sword as a present is a friend for life. Badass," added Levine, who, upon receiving his rudis, immediately said, "wanna see the dumbest thing that I can do?" and impressively balanced it on the bridge of his nose.

Coach John Legend tried to do the same trick, but his sword fell almost instantly. Legend has a whole lot of skills, but sword balancing is apparently not among them.

Adam Levine texting Blake between auditions

When an Artist is singing, Levine gives them his full attention. But in between, you know he's having fun, whether it's teasing Coach Kelsea Ballerini or texting former Coach Blake Shelton eleven times in a row, as he did during the second round of Blind Auditions.

"I just texted Blake and said, 'I’m in your stupid chair,'" he announced during a break. When he didn't get a response, he kept at it, writing, "God I hate you...Haha...Haha...Are you getting these?...Stop being lame...You mad at me?...Whatever idiot...I just farted in your chair...Because I hate you. ...Fine whatever. You suck eggs."

Ultimately, Shelton got the last laugh, hitting Levine with a cold, "Unsubscribe." Maybe try showing Shelton the sword trick?!
