Law & Order: SVU Just Scored So Many 2022 People's Choice Awards Nominations

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit just scored four nominations at the 2022 People's Choice Awards.

The first nomination is for Drama Show of 2022 alongside seven other nail-biting contenders. Ice-T also earned an impressive nomination for Male TV Star of 2022 for his longtime role as SVU's most reliable Sergeant Odafin "Fin" Tutuola. As expected, Mariska Hargitay has received some love from the people, earning two nominations from SVU for Female TV Star of 2022 and Drama TV Star of 2022.

With two decades of episodes, Law & Order: SVU has become more than a legal drama. The show is a phenomenon. Hargitay and the SVU squad have provided a platform for survivors both onscreen and off.

“I knew very early that this wasn’t a regular TV show," Hargitay recently revealed to Access. "I understood very quickly the power of healing this television show had...When I started SVU, very quickly I started to receive a different kind of fan letter. Instead of, you know, ‘I love your show; you’re a great actress,’ it was women and men disclosing stories of abuse. People started sharing and saying, ‘Your show changed my life,’ and ‘I’ve never told anyone [about my abuse].'"

SVU fans can vote for the PCAs by visiting the official PCAs website. Voting ends on Wednesday, November 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The 2022 People's Choice Awards airs simultaneously on both NBC and E! on Tuesday, December 6th at 9/8c.
