Here's Every Celebrity Who's Worked with the Artists on The Voice
Over 26 seasons, music icons like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and Dua Lipa have joined the show.
The Voice always brings four star-powered Coaches to our screens every season, but the red chairs aren't the only place viewers will spot celebrities on the show. For several seasons, each Coach brought in at least one celebrity Battle Advisor to provide some extra mentorship and motivation, not to mention additional appearances from big names serving as Mega Mentors later on.
As Battle Advisors, these successful musicians helped Artists gear up for their nail-biting competitions in the Battle Rounds, where they go head-to-head on a duet with a fellow teammate after the Blind Auditions close. Other artists have stepped in for Knockout Rounds and the live shows. Season 23 introduced some changes to the formula — instead of Battle Advisors or Key Advisors, one celebrity advises all the teams as THE Mega Mentor for the Knock-Outs.
Over the years, we've seen many celebrities help Artists on The Voice lean into their natural talent to impress their Coach, often bringing nervous competitors out of their shells. Revisit all of the talented people who have appeared on The Voice from Seasons 1-25.
Season 25: Mega Mentor Keith Urban
Coaches: John Legend, Reba McEntire, Chance the Rapper, and Dan + Shay
The Season 25 Coaches panel featured many returning Coaches while welcoming the first-ever Coaching duo in a customized red chair: Dan + Shay. Country icon Keith Urban joined the competition as Mega Mentor, dishing some coveted intel to the Artists ahead of the Knock-Outs.
Season 24: Mega Mentor Wynonna Judd
Coaches: Reba McEntire, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Niall Horan
The Season 24 Coaches panel featured returning Coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Niall Horan, fresh off his debut season victory with Season 23 Artist Gina Miles. After stealing hearts as the first-ever Mega Mentor, McEntire cemented her status as a Voice legend by becoming a Season 24 Coach. For McEntire's debut in the red chair, the panel was graced by country powerhouse Wynonna Judd as the Mega Mentor, who inspired heartfelt performances from the entire Artist lineup.
Season 23: Mega Mentor Reba McEntire
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper
On Season 23 of The Voice, Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper changed things up by not having any Battle Advisors. Instead, country icon Reba McEntire served as the Mega Mentor for all the teams, advising Artists ahead of the Knockouts. The "Fancy" singer previously appeared on The Voice as a Battle Advisor for Team Blake on Season 1, so it served as a perfect bookend to Blake's time as a Coach on the show.
Season 22: Charlie Puth, Jazmine Sullivan, Jimmie Allen, Sean Paul
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Camila Cabello
Coach Camila Cabello joined seasoned Coaches Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Shelton for Season 22 of the show. Each Coach invited their own celebrity guest to advise their Artists for the Battle Rounds. Cabello texted fellow artist Charlie Puth to snag him for her team. Legend brought on Jazmine Sullivan, Shelton chose Grammy nominee Jimmie Allen, and Stefani invited Sean Paul.
Season 21: Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Camila Cabello, Kristin Chenoweth, and Key Advisor Ed Sheeran
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Ariana Grande
Shelton chose Dierks Bentley as his team's advisor for Season 21, citing their long friendship and the artist's successful musical career as his reasons. Coach Ariana Grande went with Kristin Chenoweth, and the two talked about how they first met backstage during Chenoweth's tenure in the Broadway show Wicked when Grande was just 10 years old. "You sang, and that's when I knew," Chenoweth recalled. "I can't believe how far you're come, and for you to invite me... thank you."
Team Kelly was graced with the help of Jason Aldean, while Team Legend received guidance from Cabello (before she became a Coach herself in the following season). "I would not be where I am today if I hadn't auditioned for a show like this," Cabello said. "It genuinely gives people an opportunity, which I think is so amazing."
Season 21 also had Key Advisor Ed Sheeran. "Being a Mega Mentor and coming in is perfect, because you get to come and give constructive criticism that genuinely makes the performance better, and then leave," Sheeran said.
Season 20: Dan + Shay, Luis Fonsi, Brandy, Darren Criss, and Key Advisor Snoop Dogg
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Nick Jonas
Before the Battle Rounds in Season 20, "Tequila" singers Dan + Shay advised Team Blake while Luis Fonsi met with Team Kelly. "I kind of have a leg up this time, because you're a voice coach," Clarkson said to Fonsi. Fonsi said he was happy to advise on the process without having to make the "impossible choices" between Artists.
Coach Nick Jonas brought on his friend Darren Criss for pre-Battle advice. "It may have been a horrible choice, but there's only one way to find out," Criss joked. Team Legend got the help of the musician Brandy, who was excited to join the show. "This is a dream. Music is my life, so to be part of such a wonderful show that represents music is a dream," she said.
The Artists of Season 20 later received some useful advice from Key Advisor Snoop Dogg, who went on to co-host NBC's American Song Contest with Clarkson.
Season 19: Miguel, Leon Bridges, Julia Michaels, Kane Brown, and Key Advisor Usher
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend
Season 19 received some incredible words of wisdom from Key Advisor (and former Voice Coach) Usher ahead of the Knockout rounds. "You have to give your all at all times as an artist. You put in the time for yourself, so show up for yourself," Usher told Artists. "Stitch that on a pillow," Clarkson said.
Before that, Artists had the chance to hear from one of four Battle Advisors. Team Blake met with Kane Brown and Team Kelly got advice from Leon Bridges. Stefani chose friend and acclaimed songwriter Julia Michaels, and Legend brought on "Sure Thing" singer Miguel.
Season 18: Ella Mai, Dua Lipa, Kevin and Joe Jonas, Bebe Rexha, and Key Advisor James Taylor
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Nick Jonas
Season 18 had yet another star-studded lineup of advisors. Bebe Rexha joined Team Blake, Dua Lipa joined Team Kelly, and Ella Mai joined Team Legend. Nick Jonas pulled out all the stops on his first coaching season by bringing on his two older brothers, making for a Jonas Brothers reunion.
"We're thrilled, we're happy to help Nick through this process and hopefully pass on some knowledge and good information and wisdom to these artists," Joe Jonas said.
For the Knockout rounds, singer and songwriter James Taylor came on board and serenaded the audience with his hit song "Moon River."
Season 17: Usher, Normani, will.i.am, Darius Rucker, and Key Advisor Taylor Swift
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend
For Season 17, Legend brought on fan-favorite Usher to give "Ph.D.-level advice" (in Legend's words). Team Kelly met with acclaimed singer Normani, Team Blake received help from Hootie & the Blowfish singer turned county artist Darius Rucker, and Team Gwen had advisor will.i.am.
The Breakout performers in Season 17 also got help from someone who knows the industry all too well. "They never react like that when it's just me," Shelton said after seeing his Artists shocked reaction to meeting Key Advisor Taylor Swift.
Season 16: Charlie Puth, Khalid, Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend
Familiar face Puth appeared as Team Adam's advisor in Season 16. Clarkson brought on Kelsea Ballerini, who was actually on tour with Clarkson around the time of the season's filming. (Ballerini had also served as a fifth Coach for the Comeback Stage on the previous season of The Voice.) First-time Coach Legend got to meet with talented singer-songwriter Khalid and Team Blake met with country singers Brooks & Dunn.
"Brooks & Dunn are part of the reason that I do what I do," Shelton said. "These guys have accomplished everything you could dream of. They're iconic."

Coaches: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson
CeeLo Green returned to The Voice to mentor Team Adam while Halsey came onto Coach Jennifer Hudson's team. Meanwhile Team Kelly and Team Blake met with advisors Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban, respectively.
"I wanted to blow my team away by having someone awesome, so I did," Clarkson said of choosing Rhett.
Ahead of the Breakout rounds, acclaimed vocalist Mariah Carey visited the Artists to give some extra pushes. "Whether you win or not, you both win that exposure that's going to give you a leg up," Carey told them.
Clarkson then brought her Season 14 winner, Brynn Cartelli, back to advise her team during the Top 8.
Season 14: Julia Michaels, Hailee Steinfeld, Shawn Mendes, Trace Adkins
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson
Coach Alicia Keys brought Shawn Mendes on for her team, and the two reflected on their first meetup. "I basically told everyone I needed to meet her, otherwise I would die," Mendes said. For the Knockouts, each team enlisted former winners to offer advice: Jordan Smith (Season 9) for Team Adam; Chris Blue (Season 12) for Team Alicia; Cassadee Pope (Season 3) for Team Kelly; and Chloe Kohanski (Season 13) for Team Blake.
Season 13: Joe Jonas, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kelly Rowland, Rascal Flatts, and Key Advisor Kelly Clarkson
Coaches: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson
Before she coached her own teams to success, Clarkson appeared on The Voice as a Key Advisor. Clarkson and Shelton shared a sweet dance party on the Voice stage even then, which is fun to look back on under the new context of their seasons-long competitive rivalry.
That season also saw another family reunion on stage when Team Miley got the help of Cyrus's father, Billy Ray Cyrus. First-time Coach Jennifer Hudson's team was mentored by artist Kelly Rowland (formerly of Destiny's Child), Joe Jonas came on board under Team Adam, and Team Shelton met with the successful music group Rascal Flatts.
