Willie Geist is busier than ever these days!
The longtime NBC News correspondent and host of Sunday TODAY has been everywhere lately, whether stepping in for absent anchors on TODAY or assuming co-hosting duties on TODAY with Jenna & Friends. However, of course, the husband and father or two still makes time for his family.

Fans of young love will be happy to learn that Geist didn't just marry his high school sweetheart — he married his middle school sweetheart!
Geist has been married to his wife, Christina Geist, since 2003. She's a New York Times best-selling children's book author (which gives her something in common with Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager), and we can't stress enough how much Geist loves gushing about her.
In a February 18, 2025 Instagram post commemorating Christina's 50th birthday, Geist explained their sweet history.
"She was 11 when she caught my eye on the first day of Mr. Kaplan's 6th Grade homeroom class," he wrote. "A gawky boy in Jams and Chuck Taylor's can dream… but not this big. I'd love to go back and tell him she and I have spent most of our lives since that day together and today we're celebrating her Big 5-0."

But Geist's public admiration of his wife isn't limited to social media posts. In a memorable moment on TODAY in 2022, Geist beamed with pride as he told a romantic story from his childhood.
"I have a very romantic secret — I made out with her on the roof of my friend's house with some warm Bud Light in the red-hot fall of 1991," Geist recalled. "We were like, was that a thing, or was it just a moment? And it turned out it was a thing."
The two have been happily married for over 20 years now. Other husbands, take note!

Yes, Geist and Christina share two children: their daughter Lucie was born in 2007, and their son George was born two years later, in 2009.

In a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Geist revealed that he frequently leans on his now-teenaged kids for support — especially when prepping for interviews with younger celebrities.
"I'm definitely pushing 50 at this point, so when somebody who is on the younger end of celebrities come in, I do a gut check with my kids," he explained. "They said I had to interview Machine Gun Kelly, which turned out to be one of the best experiences we've had on the show, challenging and fun. And then there was Sydney Sweeney, when I mentioned it, my daughter was like, 'Oh my God, you're going to have Sydney Sweeney on?!'"
Being the best father he can be has always been high on Geist's priority list. He's always stressed the importance of being vulnerable as a father, as he explained during a roundtable Father's Day discussion alongside Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Craig Melvin in 2024.
"You want to, in their eyes, be the hero," he told his colleagues. "And showing that kind of vulnerability, maybe you feel like that puts a little bit of a dent in that. But I think it's so important to do it and reveal that life is not all perfect. Things come up along the way. You are vulnerable."
