Gwen Stefani Lied to Son Apollo About Needing to See the Dentist for an Epic Reason
The Voice Coach alum just made every kid's dream a reality for her son Apollo.
It's every kid's dream: Your mom dismisses you from school early and takes you on a surprise trip to Disneyland. But for Gwen Stefani's 11-year-old son Apollo, this was reality for his recent birthday.
Stefani shared a video to Instagram on Sunday, March 2 revealing how the surprise happened. "I picked these guys up [sons Apollo and Zuma] out of school. I took them out of school today," Stefani said in the video as she was driving. "I told them they had to go to the dentist, but guess what? We're not going to the dentist! We're going to Disneyland!"
The video then jumped to Stefani and her sons on a rollercoaster at the theme park, followed by some more fun moments from the day. "I'm literally walking, and they're playing No Doubt in Disneyland right now," Stefani said at one point.
"It's my song!" she added, pointing to a speaker blasting one of the band's tracks.
For his birthday, Apollo wore a very fitting Disney hat, which we had on when he hugged mama Stefani thanking her for the day. It's such a sweet moment!

Gwen Stefani's family life
Stefani has three sons with now-ex Gavin Rossdale: Kingston James McGregor Rossdale, 18; Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, 16; and Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, 11. And her husband, Blake Shelton, loves being a stepdad.
“I think being a stepdad has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore," Shelton told Access. "Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ the very next thought is always,‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going work?' Or, 'What will they think?' Or, 'How will that affect a schedule?'"

In fact, Shelton's role as stepdad to Zuma, Kingston, and Apollo is, in part, why he decided to leave The Voice after 23 seasons.
“I think the only way for me to really do [being a stepdad] right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time," he continued. "There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job."
