America's favorite weatherman also posted several photos of the newly engaged couple, including one of Gricourt down on one knee with a ring box in his hand and another of the dazzling pear cut diamond on Leila Roker's ring finger.
Leila Roker, a journalist based in Paris, also announced the happy news on her Instagram. “8 years ago, I moved to Paris, 7 years ago I met my person and best friend, and 2 days ago, that person took me on the most amazing surprise trip to Venice to ask me to spend the rest of our lives together,” she captioned her post.

Deborah Roberts, Roker’s wife of nearly 30 years, welcomed their daughter’s new fiancé to the family. “We could not be happier and more joyful!!!!” Roberts commented on Leila Roker’s post. “Welcome to the family Sylvain! Now let’s plan a wedding!”
In his own engagement announced, Gricourt said proposing to Leila was the “best” thing he’s done in his life.
“Just two days ago I put a ring on her finger, and that’s the best thing I did in the last 33 years,” he wrote on Instagram, adding a romantic message in French to Leila: “Qu’est-ce que tu dis de passer les 33 prochaines ensemble, et toutes celles d’après?” (In English, his message translates to, “What do you say about spending the next 33 together, and all the ones after that?”)
Less than a year before Gricourt popped the question, Roker and Roberts locked in some quality time with Leila and their future son-in-law while the TODAY co-host was in Paris covering the 2024 Summer Olympics. In July 2024, Roker told People that spending time with his daughter, who speaks French fluently, in Paris was “the gold medal."
