Miley Cyrus' Twangy, Powerhouse "Jolene" Cover Is a Vocal Juggernaut

The star's "Jolene" cover is famous for a reason.

Where better to go country than the countryside? Playing England's Glastonbury festival in 2019, former The Voice Coach (Seasons 11 & 13) Miley Cyrus belted out her godmother Dolly Parton's hit "Jolene," and the crowd loved her powerful yet raspy delivery.

How to Watch

Watch Saturday Night Live Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and Peacock, streaming next day on Peacock.

The singer first recorded a version of the hit for her "Backyard sessions" video series in 2012, which immediately went viral and had fans begging for more. In addition to the Glastonbury set, Cyrus has given repeat performances on a subway platform (in disguise) with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in 2017, and with Parton herself during the epic Miley's New Years Eve party special in 2022

Miley Cyrus has been on SNL 10 times

She's basically a cast member at this point. The Hannah Montana star hosted Season 36, Episode 16, and was the host and musical guest for Season 39, Episode 2 and Season 41, Episode 1.

Cyrus was the musical guest during Season 43, Episode 4; Season 44, Episode 9 (with Mark Ronson); Season 45; Episode 17; and Season 46, Episode 18. She also made uncredited cameos in Season 39, Episode 4 and Season 47, Episode 8, as well as performing in the Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special. She sang an absolutely show-stopping rendition of Paul Simon's "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover," though, come to think of it, maybe she should have saved that for the 50th.
