How Long Is the SNL50 Special & Where to Stream It
Here's how you can still watch — or relive — Saturday Night Live's historic and hilarious evening.
Sunday, February 16 was a night for the history books as a sea of celebrities gathered in Studio 8H for SNL50: The Anniversary Special, celebrating a half-century of Saturday Night Live.
The unforgettable evening contained so many memorable moments, including the return of fan-favorite sketches like "Lawrence Welk," "Black Jeopardy," Debbie Downer, and a "Bronx Beat"/"Coffee Talk" mashup featuring Mike Myers as his Linda Richman character. There were also plenty of incredible cameos like Will Ferrell and Eddie Murphy, who "scared straight" the Season 50 cast, Pedro Pascal and Bad Bunny in a new "Domingo" sketch, and Meryl Streep as Kate McKinnon's mom in a new "Close Encounters."
John Mulaney, Pete Davidson, and David Spade starred in an epic new New York musical, which featured almost too many cameos to count. There was a special edition of "Weekend Update," and a hilarious opening monologue by 16-time Host Steve Martin. As for musical performances, Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter opened the show, singing Simon & Garfunkel's "Homeward Bound." Later, Miley Cyrus, Brittany Howard, and The Roots covered "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinéad O'Connor, and Paul McCartney closed out the emotional affair, before Martin Short's sweet goodnight speech.
