See Mandy Moore and Edgar Ramirez in Chilling Dr. Death Season 2 Trailer
The new season of the anthology series centers on Dr. Paolo Macchiarini.
Season 2 of Dr. Death is returning with scintillating new episodes based on the story of Dr. Paolo Macchiarini.
In the 8-episode series, premiering December 21 on Peacock, Edgar Ramirez plays the charming and innovative Dr. Macchiarini, a thoracic surgeon who sets out to help the hopeless with a new experimental surgery. When Mandy Moore's Benita Alexander begins to chronicle his story for a documentary, she elevates Dr. Macchiarini's status and dubs him a "Miracle Man." But when Dr. Macchiarini and Alexander's professional relationship turns romantic, the journalist begins to see his flaws.
"As she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets, a group of doctors halfway across the world make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything about Paolo into question," a series description reads.
Starring alongside Moore and Ramirez are Luke Kirby, Ashley Madekwe, Gustaf Hammarsten, and more.

Dr. Death Series
This is the latest installment of the Dr. Death series, based on Wondery's hit podcast of the same name. The first season of the anthology series centered on the true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch, a disgraced spine surgeon, portrayed by Joshua Jackson. His misconduct in the operating room led to his conviction of aggravated assault.
“The joy of an Anthology series is the freedom to explore variations on a theme. Dr. Death is a show about systemic failures, and this season, these issues reach a global scale,” explained Ashley Michel Hoban, the Season 2 showrunner, executive producer and writer, in a press release. “Amid complex narratives, we’ve been fortunate to delve deeply into a story that, while entirely unique, remains surprisingly familiar, as it taps into a truly universal part of the human condition: illness. Even putting aside any recent global pandemics, we all know what it’s like to feel sick. It renders us vulnerable, small, in desperate need of help. A doctor we can trust.”
