Jesse Lee Soffer Posted a Beautiful Tribute to Anne Heche

Chicago P.D. actor Jesse Lee Soffer posted a tribute to his late co-star Anne Heche, who passed away in August 2022. According to the New York Times, Heche slipped into a coma after her car caught fire in Los Angles on August 5. NBC News reported that Heche was taken off life-support on Sunday, August 12.

Soffer expressed his condolences to Heche's family in an Instagram post. 

"I haven’t really known what to say," wrote Soffer. "I just want to pay my respects. Anne was such a kind person. Always generous. Always funny. I’m so sorry for her family. I hope they know how many people she really touched. I think these pics were from her last day on set with us." (Heche appeared on 11 episodes of Chicago P.D. between 2018 and 2019.) 

Heche's family addressed the actor's passing in a statement. 

"Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend," a rep for the actor told People in an official statement. "Anne will be deeply missed, but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact."

Heche's career began with her breakout role on Another World, which she landed shortly after graduating high school. The actor went on to make a name for herself in popular films like Donnie Brasco and I Know What You Did Last Summer. She played Dep. Superintendent Katherine Brennan on Chicago P.D.
