Where to Watch and Stream Law & Order
Dun-dun: Here's how to watch the iconic series right now.
The original Law & Order returned to NBC in early 2022 after a 12-year hiatus with a cast of beloved stars, old and new. The new Law & Order, which originally brought back franchise veteran Sam Waterston alongside Anthony Anderson, Jeffrey Donovan, Camryn Manheim, Hugh Dancy, and Odelya Halevi, is already a courtroom classic.

Since then, Waterson, Anderson, and Donovan have left, and Mehcad Brooks, Reid Scott, and Tony Goldwyn have joined.
"I think it’s brave, I think it’s courageous, I think it’s real, I think it’s raw, I think it’s timely," Brooks (who plays Detective Jalen Shaw) told The Wrap in 2022.
After an ultra-intense run, Season 23 concluded in May 2024. But don’t worry — it'll be back for Season 24.
When does Law & Order Season 24 premiere?
Law & Order will return to NBC for Season 24 and occupy its normal time slot: Thursdays at 8/7c. It premieres October 3!
What happened in Season 23 of Law & Order?
After Frank Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) left the squad at the end of Season 22, Shaw teamed up with his new partner, Riley (Reid Scott), to hit the ground running on the latest homicide case. Meanwhile, A.D.A.s Nolan Pierce (Hugh Dancy) and Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) continued to be rockstars in the courtroom.
Later in the season, McCoy contemplated his long-running tenure amid increasing political tension and ultimately opted to retire from the D.A.'s office. As a cornerstone of the series for nearly three decades, Waterston's farewell was emotional.

After his departure, viewers met his dedicated replacement, Nicholas Baxter (Tony Goldwyn). On his first day, Baxter instantly set out to form steel-tight bonds with the squad while also bringing a fresh perspective to the D.A.'s office.
"It's a very singular experience to step into something that's such an institution and do it in a capacity where my character's very central now to the story," Goldwyn told People in May 2024. "Stepping into Sam's shoes — I felt honored to be doing that, so it was cool. I felt very excited and privileged.”
Where can I watch past episodes of Law & Order?
Every episode from Seasons 13 through 23 of Law & Order is currently streaming on Peacock.
Waterston told NBC Chicago in 2023, "I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have had such a long run doing something of real quality that really talks to this country in plain language about what's going on, right now, today. It's just been a wonderful blessing."
