How to Watch Last Breath: Is Woody Harrelson & Simu Liu Thriller in Theaters or Streaming?
The clock-ticking thriller takes the plunge into theaters this Friday — February 28.
Last Breath may not take place 20,000 leagues under the sea or feature giant squids, but it still packs all the aquatic punch of a thrilling Jules Verne yarn. Set to be released into theaters February 28 via Focus Features (click here for tickets), the film recounts the incredible true story of three saturation divers — Duncan Allcock, Dave Yuasa, and Chris Lemons — who looked death right in the face when a routine job in the North Sea turned dire in 2012.
While Lemons and Yuasa were busy repairing an undersea pipe several miles below the surface, a sudden computer error severed the former from his oxygen and communications. With just minutes before Lemons succumbed to lack of air, Yuasa and Allcock sprung into action to save their colleague's life against impossible odds. Woody Harrelson (Zombieland) portrays Allcock while Simu Liu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Finn Cole (Peaky Blinders) tackle Yuasa and Lemons, respectively. Cliff Curtis (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Mark Bonnar (Napoleon) co-star.

Last Breath is a dramatized adaptation of the 2019 documentary of the same name directed by Alex Parkinson and Richard da Costa. The former returned to direct this feature, which he co-wrote with Mitchell LaFortune and producer David Brooks. Paul Brooks, Hal Sadoff, Norman Golightly, Jeremy Plager, Stewart le Maréchal, Al Morrow, and Anna Mohr-Pietsch are also producers.
“This is the story I’ve lived with for 10 years now, and I know it inside out,” Parkinson said in a statement. “It was such a vast canvas I could paint the story on, much bigger than the documentary. I aimed to do more than just remake the documentary. I wanted to tell this remarkable story on the grandest scale possible, and explore new dimensions of the characters’ emotional journeys."
