After weeks of running the DONDI game, "The Family" found themselves between a rock and a hard place.

This story contains spoilers for Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Episode 9, "Million Dollar Walk."

Season 2 of Deal or No Deal Island has been a nail-biting watch as these players rely on grit, strategy, and a healthy splash of luck to see another day on Banker's Island.

How to Watch

Watch Deal or No Deal Island Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock

The collective pot is climbing sky-high, but with only one player getting that final chance to battle the Banker, these DONDI players brought their A-game in DONDI's latest.

Survivor stars Parvati Shallow and David Genat continued to flex their talent for high-stakes island gameplay as the leaders of "The Family" alliance, with their "son" Dickson Wong helping them hold the numbers. Fellow Final Six players Phillip Solomon, Courtney Kim (C.K.), and Alexis Lete are keeping it a close race, but as the competition dwindles, it's getting harder and harder to avoid facing the Banker. As the finish line approaches, they're desperate to see The Family dismantled.

Here's everything that happened during the March 4 episode of Deal or No Deal Island:

David and Parvati couldn't protect their son after the DONDI Excursion

"Final 6, y'all! We're doing it, we're here!" Phillip Solomon cheered ahead of the Excursion. "We're out here screaming, crying, yelling, throwing up, all of it."

The Excursion tasked players with choosing from a lineup of briefcases of varying weights and then walking a razor-think plank over a bog of quicksand to the platform in under 2 minutes. If the players fell, they could still shoot for immunity, but only if they successfully got their case to the platform in time. Dickson earned the honor of going first but instantly fell and demonstrated just how difficult wading through the suctioning goo would be.

Dickson failed to get his case to the platform, immediately putting him at risk for elimination. Dickson then chose David to go next, who didn't shy away from selecting the heaviest briefcase. As the "Golden God" of Survivor: Australia, he didn't bat an eye at the quicksand, expertly clearing the course by "swimming" across the top of muck with Herculean skill. He selected his ally Parvati to go next, who, after successfully transporting the red "risky" briefcase, gained safety at Temple for the ninth time in a row.

Yet again, the Survivor alums made big moves, and they paid off big time; Parvati snuffed anyone's dream of taking her out while David ultimately revealed the highest-value case and earned the honor of choosing who'd face the Banker at Temple.

But there was one problem: No matter how David broke down the Deal or No Deal game, all signs pointed to Dickson being in grave danger. David didn't want to send his faithful son to the gallows and see him eliminated in the case of a bad deal, but he was also pretty confident that if any of The Family's rivals made a good deal, Dickson would be sent home.

Parvati and David could dominate the physical challenges and dodge elimination all they desired, but their son was undeniably vulnerable.

Unwilling to put Dickson at direct risk of going home, David chose Lete to face the Banker. After Lete and Dickson formed some endearing eleventh-hour bonds, David hoped that Lete would be the lesser of the evils, but he miscalculated. As Lete stood up to begin her Deal or No Deal game, she vowed to vote out Dickson. After navigating a mind-boggling game, Lete made a good deal against the Banker and made good on her word, ending Dickson's game.

The big twist: Season 2 is bringing DONDI's first double elimination

Joe Manganiello in Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, Episode 9.

It's not like the Banker to make late night calls, but just as host Joe Manganiello dismissed the players from Temple, the phone mysteriously began ringing.

"I guess the Banker has something to say," Manganiello said before picking it up.

"Well, that is a twist," he said into the receiver. What could it be? The players waited with bated breath as Manganiello finally hung up to give an update.

"Tomorrow's Excursion will lead to a double-elimination at Temple," Manganiello revealed. "Only three will move on to the Final. It will be the first double-elimination in the island's history."

"Two of you will be gone after tomorrow night," Manganiello concluded before bidding them a bitter goodnight.

Find out which two players head home next by watching Deal or No Deal Island on Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
