The Big Questions Fans Have Going Into Law & Order Season 22
What's on the horizon for Season 22 of Law & Order?
Law & Order Season 21 featured a new cast of legal experts and law enforcement officers tackling NYC's most corrupt criminals, led by longtime star Sam Waterston as fan-favorite DA Jack McCoy. With Season 22 premiering this fall, many fans have questions about which direction Law & Order is going, as well as what they can expect to see from their new favorite characters. Let's dive into the questions surrounding the exciting show's 22nd season!
What kind of cases will be tackled in Law & Order Season 22?
The new Law & Order embraces an episodic format in which the law enforcement and legal teams track down a different villain each week. While Law & Order: SVU covers sexual crimes and Law & Order: Organized Crime explores high-level corruption, Law & Order is great because each episode is unique and based on the wide variety of crimes that courtrooms see.
In Season 21, we saw many cases based on real-life events, such as the Britney Spears conservatorship controversy and the Elizabeth Holmes trial. If Season 22 is anything like Season 21, we could expect more of these all-too-real cases to be adapted for Law & Order plotlines.
Will there be a romantic relationship between Samantha Maroun and Nolan Price?
Because the Law & Order cast is new, most of Season 21 saw these legal experts getting to know each other more, especially in the case of ADA Samantha Maroun (Odelya Halevi) and Executive DA Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy). Shortly following the Season 21 finale, Halevi revealed in an interview with TV Insider that one of her relationships would begin to "shift" But with who? All eyes are on her back-and-forth banter with Nolan Price.
"Maroun is getting more comfortable in her own skin and with Nolan; more daring, stronger, has more opinions she’s not afraid to express. With this progression, Nolan has more respect for her opinions also," Halevi explained. "They have definitely gotten to know each other and have a deeper connection...It definitely changes their relationship from solely business to more personal, and there’s more depth to it now."
Does that mean that a romantic shift might occur? Law & Order fans have their fingers crossed!
