Shakira's TikTok Challenge for Her New Song Is Gold
The Dancing With Myself Creator's new single, “Te Felicito,” is the ultimate summer bop.
If there’s one thing we can count on in life, it’s certainly that Shakira can dance. On May 16th, the Grammy Award-winning performer came on The Tonight Show to promote Dancing With Myself, a new dance competition show she will be starring in alongside Nick Jonas and Liza Koshy. In the spirit of the NBC series, Host Jimmy Fallon challenged our girl to a “Watch It Once TikTok Challenge." The premise is simple: Watch a TikTok dance once and try to replicate it.
After watching the viral TikTok dance to “Jiggle Jiggle” by Duke and Jones with Louis Theroux, she and Fallon went head-to-head to see who could do it best. And during the second round, the duo performed another TikTok dance...choreographed by Shakira and set to her latest single “Te Felicito.”
See the original TikTok choreography, below, and watch Fallon attempt to do it above.
Shakira fans have been waiting patiently for new music from the pop star, so it wasn't long before they took to TikTok with some impressive takes on Shakira's choreography.
Shakira recently posted another choreography video set to "Push It" by Salt-N-Pepa:
On the topic of Dancing With Myself, Shakira told Fallon, "[It was made] to offer people from all walks of life and all ages a platform where they can showcase their talents but also their passion for dance...They don't have to be professionals. Most of them aren't. The idea with the show is just to offer an opportunity and access to people from everywhere to dance and to show their true passion for dance."
Dancing With Myself premieres on Tuesday, May 31 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
