Who the Best Downton Abbey Couple Is—According to the Downton Abbey Cast

Downton Abbey is a beloved franchise. The popular British historical drama ran for six seasons and spawned a hit movie in 2019. (Can you believe that was three years ago?) And now, we have a sequel. 

Yes, that's right! Downton Abbey: A New Era hits Peacock streaming on June 24, and it's delightful. If you've seen even one episode of Downton Abbey, you'll thoroughly enjoy this new film. Per an official description from Focus Features, "The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly-inherited villa." 

There's much else to be uncovered in this film, too. Remember, at the end of the first Downton Abbey movie, it was revealed Violet (Maggie Smith) was told by a doctor she may not have long to live. But what does that mean, exactly? It's just one of many questions the second film explores, and fans are more than ready for answers.
