This Chicago Fire Alum Just Debuted on NBC's Twisty New Missing-Persons Drama
The seasoned actor has very different roles on both shows.
NBC's new gripping crime-drama has found has a familiar face.
Found follows the endeavors of Gabi Mosley (Shanola Hampton), who runs an underground agency that helps recover missing people. However, the show has a major twist. As a previous recovered missing person herself, Gabi has taken revenge on her former kidnapper, turning the tables on him by holding him hostage in her basement.
An interesting character on the show is D.C-based detective Mark Trent, whose investigations often overlap with Gabi's. On the show, his morals as a police office often conflict with his desire to he useful to Gabi and her team.
Fans may recognize Mark Trent, as he is played by actor Brett Dalton, who also had a recent role in Chicago Fire.
“It’s such a beautiful story that we get to tell because we get to put away any sort of stereotype of what trauma looks like,” Hampton said in an interview conducted prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike. “We get to put away any sort of stereotype of what healing looks like because it’s different for everyone. One of the things that I think is so rare, just in life in general, is we get to take away judgement. We get to take away in that bubble of the Mosely & Associates, the fear of being judged.”
Brett Dalton on Chicago Fire
Dalton played Lieutenant Jason Pelham on Chicago Fire. Introduced in Season 10, Episode 7, Pelham entered Firehouse 51 shortly after the departure of Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer). An experienced firefighter, Pelham also had the reputation of job-hopping around firehouses, causing his colleagues to be suspicious of him.
Turns out, he was hiding a secret. Years ago, he was kicked out of a previous station for punching his commander in the face. However, he proved himself by being dedicated and hard-working, despite frequently butting heads with Blake Gallo.
"The lieutenant-ship of Truck 81 is a huge part of the next batch of episodes. Pelham’s place at 51, knowing that he has some enemies out in the CFD who have kept him floating as long as they have, comes into play. There is particularly one chief who does not like the fact that he has landed at a firehouse and so tangles with Boden about it. We’re going to have the thing that we haven’t had since COVID started, which is the CFD gala," executive producer Derek Haas told TV Insider in 2021.
In Season 10, Episode 14, Pelham revealed that he was leaving Firehouse 51 for another Lieutenant position elsewhere.
