Here's Everything the This Is Us Cast Took From the Set as Souvenirs

Since the This Is Us series finale aired in May 2022, it's taken viewers some time to process all the sentimental feelings brought up by the award-winning family drama. It's no surprise the This Is Us cast went through their own emotional journey while saying goodbye to the characters they played for six seasons. And honestly, they couldn't say goodbye to everything. Below, see what each member of the This Is Us cast took from the set as mementos. 

Mandy Moore (Rebecca)

As the matriarch of the Pearson family, it makes sense that Mandy Moore (Rebecca) was able to snag more than a few keepsakes from her beloved character's family home. 

"Milo [Ventimiglia] and I went and did one last lap through the Pearson house and took some of the family photos off the wall and just put the frames back up," Moore told Fallon during the May 10th episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "I also took the Steelers jersey from the Super Bowl episode...and I took my character's wedding ring."

Milo Ventimiglia 

Actor Milo Ventimiglia (Jack) decided on a keepsake that had both past and future significance. However, before taking the item home, he had to make a special request from the set decorator, Hala Bahmet. 

"I asked for a pair of boots that Jack wore that [I could use] if I ever shoot my Evel Knievel project," said Ventimiglia to EW. "They're basically Evel Knievel boots. I told Hala that I would return them once the job was done because they were her personals." 

In addition to the boots, Ventimiglia also took home a crew chair as a nod to all the hard work that went on behind the scenes.

Chrissy Metz

While many cast members took home smaller items, actor Chrissy Metz (Kate) hoped to keep a big piece that played a massive role in her character's life. 

 "I've asked for Kate and Toby's piano that was in their house," she said to EW. "There's so many memories, not only surrounding the piano, but music generally, and I have a perfect place for it."

Sterling K. Brown 

As for Sterling K. Brown (Randall), the only thing the actor took from the set was simple: family photos that marked the beginning of his journey with actors Susan Kelechi Watson, Eris Baker, Faithe Herman, and Lyric Ross (who played Randall's wife and three daughters).

"[The photos] of when they were younger because it reminds me of the privilege of watching those young girls become young women," said Brown to People. "I have it on my desk, and I see it every day."

Chris Sullivan 

It was clear to actor and vintage car enthusiast Chris Sullivan (Toby) which This Is Us set piece he wanted to keep for the long haul, and even his wife agreed. 

"I am currently in the process of purchasing the Pearson Chief Grand Wagoneer," Sullivan told EW. "They are going to sell it to me. I'm going to attempt to make it a reliable daily driver, and I want it to be our family Wagoneer. My wife and I have been talking about that car for a long time, and I have a '65 Mustang and I have a great love for vintage cars and that Jeep Wagoneer is the only kind of vintage automobile that has ever sparked my wife's interest."

Susan Kelechi Watson

Family photos were a popular choice of souvenir among the cast, and Susan Kelechi Watson (Beth) kept with tradition by taking home two meaningful photos with her costars. The actor also had her eye on a small figurine from the family home. 

"This little statuette that looks like it's from Jamaica, I took that," said Watson. "It's always in the kitchen. And since Season 4, I've been eyeing it. So I was like, 'I'm going to take that.' And I did."

Justin Hartley

Justin Hartley (Kevin) walked away from This Is Us with a few sentimental things. One is a replica of Kevin's painting he received from series creator Dan Fogelman long before the show ended. So, in the spirit of keeping things artsy, Hartley asked for something creative as his parting gift: the "original sketch that Jack drew of the dream cabin," he said. 

Additionally, the actor was allowed to keep a chain he routinely forgot to return. 

"I would come home and there would be a phone call: 'Justin, did you take the necklace home? It's kind of important,'" he recalled. "I'll be like, 'Oh yes, I have it on right now. I'll bring it tomorrow!' And I know I'll bring it tomorrow because I won't take it off. And [on the last day], I just walked out like I normally do, and it was around my neck." 

Jon Huertas

Jon Huertas (Miguel) hoped to score a special something from Season 6, Episode 3: "Four Fathers," which he directed. The item was none other than the Big Green Egg, a kitchen gadget that foreshadowed the end of one of the series' most beloved couples, Kate and Toby. 

"I'll cook on it this weekend, hopefully," said Huertas. "I'll smoke some chicken and vegetables—and I think we'll be set."
