7 Times the This Is Us Cast Made Us Emotional Post-Series Finale
The series finale may have aired but the stars of This Is Us clearly can't get enough of each other.
Although This Is Us may have aired its emotional series finale in May, many of us are not ready to say goodbye to the Pearson family, and all of the show’s talented actors. Fortunately, it seems that neither are they.
Given the show's rich scripts and heavy material, it's not surprising that the cast members have become very close during the filming process. They remained tight-knit over six seasons, and the actors have gotten together on multiple occasions to honor their friendships since the cast wrapped production on the series earlier this year.
Here are some of the cutest This Is Us off-screen cast moments post-series finale, if you can’t get enough of the star-studded ensemble.
This Is Us Stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia Reunite at the Hollywood Critics Association Television Awards
At the second annual Hollywood Critics Association Television Awards in August, the former on-screen couple linked arms and grinned at each other while Moore held her prestigious Virtuoso award. She looked chic in an elegant floral gown, while Ventimiglia was decked out in a sleek black suit. Adorable alert!
This Is Us Creator Dan Fogelman Thanks the This Is Us Cast at the HCA Television Awards
At the ceremony, This Is Us deservedly won Best Broadcast Network Series - Drama. On stage while creator Fogelman gave a clever speech were Ventimiglia, Moore, Jon Huertas, Caitlin Thompson (Madison), Jennifer Morrison (Cassidy), Genevieve Angelson (Young Sally), and Justin Hartley, with Hartley proudly adorning hot pink pants. They also posed for a group photo that night, looking content as ever to be together again since wrapping filming. Thompson also gave a shoutout to co-star Moore and her impressive accomplishments throughout her career.
Chris Sullivan and Susan Kelechi Watson Have an Outdoor Adventure
Despite not having the opportunity to work together on set, thankfully, two cast members were able to see each other in Brooklyn, New York this summer. In July, Chris Sullivan posted an adorable video with Susan Kelechi Watson riding a carousel with his two-year-old son, Bear. They lightly danced together while Sullivan let out a big laugh, and captioned the post with tags #thisisus, #friends, #internationalfriendshipday, and #reunion. The video got the attention of former co-star Moore, who commented: “I miss you guys,” while Watson shared the post on her account as well.
Chris Sullivan and Justin Hartley Celebrate National Friendship Day
That same day, Sullivan took to his Instagram account to also honor National Friendship Day by posting some goofy snapshots of him and Hartley. In the two photos, Hartley looks jokingly unamused while Sullivan sits on his lap. “As they say, keep your friends close and your enemies closer…” he captioned, with Hartley sharing the same post to his Instagram page.
Chris Sullivan Gets Lots of Love on his Birthday
The cast clearly can’t seem to get enough of Sullivan, with Watson posting some sentimental pictures of him and the cast on his birthday. Also included in the photos are Chrissy Metz, Sterling K. Brown, Moore, and Ventimiglia, all grinning ear to ear while posing together. “Hey it’s @sullivangrams birthday (#katoby 4evaaaa)!!” Watson captioned, while tagging This Is Us and following up with some celebratory emojis. Ventimiglia, Moore, Metz, and Brown all showed their appreciation by liking the photo.
The Birthday Wishes Don't Stop There for Chris Sullivan
Moore also honored Sullivan’s birthday by posting a heartwarming tribute consisting of sweet photos of him and the cast together. The snapshots included him on set with Moore’s aged Rebecca character, and multiple photos of him holding awards and smiling at the camera. He was also pictured wearing a fedora while looking sassy twice, taking a selfie with Metz, and sporting a bright neon patterned suit.
“You’re one in a million, @sullivangrams. Happy Bday, dear friend!! Can’t wait to have a breakfast burrito together soon!!” Moore Gushed in a personal note. “BANDITOS!!!” Sullivan excitedly responded.
Chrissy Metz Gushes Over Mandy Moore's Singing
Metz swooned over her and her on-screen mother’s shared musical talent when she posted adoring clips of her attending Moore’s concert. In the first video, Metz cheered whole-heartedly while Moore prepared to sing some gorgeous renditions of her songs. She also shared an affectionate picture of them with their arms around each other, grinning from ear to ear.
”MANDYYYYY! What an absolute gift to witness your joy, sing your JAMS and to be moved to tears all in one show. (Thank you to the kind man who quietly brought me tissues) You transported us all collectively and it was just stunning,” Metz praised in the caption.
