All About The Voice Season 24's New Rule Change, the Super Save
With this twist, each Coach gets to bring back a previously-eliminated Contestant — from any team — to compete in the Playoffs.
One of the toughest things to watch on The Voice is the four Coaches — John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire — saying goodbye to talented singers on their team. Because of the nature of the competition, someone has to go home, but that doesn't make it any easier to accept. Especially in Season 24, where the Artists have raised the bar in terms of talent and stage presence. Literally everyone competing this go-around is a star!
Which is why a new rule is being implemented this season that's never been on the show before. It's called the Super Save. Read, below, for more details.

All about The Voice Season 24's new rule change, the Super Save
"The Artists are getting better and better [this season]," Host Carson Daly told the Coaches at the end of the November 14th episode. " [In] the Blinds, we've had more Four-Chair Turns than we've ever had. The Knockouts, we've never seen anything like it, So...we've changed the rules. We've had to do something rather drastic — something that's never been done in 24 seasons on The Voice."

Daly didn't go into greater detail during that episode. It ended on a cliff-hanger that suggested the Coaches may be allowed to bring back Contestants who were previously eliminated. In the November 21st episode, this was revealed to be true. Called the Super Save, this new rule change on The Voice gives each Coach the power to invite back one Artist— from any team — to compete in the Playoffs. That means the Coaches will have six Artists on their teams who they'll have to narrow down to three before the Live Shows. Talk about upping the stakes!
Who are The Voice Super Save Artists?
Team Niall decided to bring back 13-year-old Julia Roome, who sang Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" during the Playoffs. However, Horan picked three other Artists to head into the Live Shows: Huntley, Nini Iris, and Mara Justine.
Team Reba brought back Ms. Monét as her Super Save Artist. But she sadly wasn't chosen as an Artist headed to Lives. McEntire chose Ruby Leigh, Jordan Rainer, and Jacquie Roar to compete in the Live Shows.
Team Gwen brought back Lennon VanderDoes as her Super Save Artist; however, she ultimately picked Tanner Massey, BIAS, and Kara Tenae to compete in the Lives.
Team Legend invited AZÁN to be its Super Save Artist, and she ended up being chosen to compete in the Lives, alongside Mac Royals and Lila Forde.
This rule change certainly keep things fresh, much like the introduction of Blocks and Saves in 2018 shook up the game. It turns out this is exactly what The Voice executive producer Audrey Morrissey was after, especially with the departure of OG Coach Blake Shelton.
"Blake is one of a kind, and he helped create what The Voice has become, and obviously, his charm, and his wit and his comedic chops are something really signature to him,” Morrissey told The Wrap in late September. “With that said, this season is so funny, and I think all the Coaches really, in their own way, fill the space that Blake left. It’s just a new dynamic and a new thing. It feels fresh, it feels alive, it feels new — it’s like a rebirth.”
