John Legend on The Voice Season 22 Artists: 'These People Sing Better Than We Do!'
The Coach's high praise for this year's Artists proves we can expect some of the strongest competition yet.
The Voice Season 22 is just around the corner, and the Coaches are more than optimistic about the talent this year. Not only will this season feature new Coach Camila Cabello, the return of Coach Gwen Stefani, and sensational Battle Advisors, but Coach John Legend told NBC insider that he is absolutely blown away by the talent.
“There are a couple of my singers that I would put up against any singer that I’ve ever seen on the show on my team this season," he said.

A Voice Coach since 2019, Legend believes the Artists just keep getting better and better. In fact, he's stunned that the series has yet to have a shortage on performances that have left him starstruck. “How does America just keep having so many great singers that we have access to?" Legend asked. "Because The Voice just keeps replenishing. Every season we get some phenomenal voices in here.”
As a Coach and veteran of the music industry, Legend even admitted something surprising. “It does make you feel a bit humble because these people sing better than we do! Some of them are just like ridiculously good,” he said. “Some of these people are just incredible. I’m in awe and I’m inspired by them quite a lot.”
To witness the phenomenal voices that Legend is referencing for yourself, be sure to tune into the Season 22 premiere of The Voice, airing Monday, September 19 at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
