Kelly Clarkson Just Delivered a Show-Stopping Cover of a Taylor Swift Classic
The Kelly Clarkson Show is back, people!
The Kelly Clarkson Show is back, and we couldn't be more excited! To celebrate the kickoff of Season 4, the vocal powerhouse blessed us with a Kellyoke medley of four iconic songs.
She started off with a rendition of Willie Nelson’s classic tune “On the Road Again” while fittingly singing from her tour bus. And clearly a Madonna fan since her early American Idol days, Ms. Clarkson then jammed out with her band to an invigorating cover of “Music." While sporting an elegant black ball gown, she also paid tribute to the one and only Aretha Franklin by belting out “Freeway of Love."
And since the talk show filmed a few new episodes in the Big Apple (instead of the L.A. studio), she excited her audience by walking onstage and performing Taylor Swift’s “Welcome to New York." To finish off the song, she hit one of her signature sustained notes perfectly, then exclaimed “What’s up New York!?” to a cheering crowd.
There’s no doubt that Clarkson’s stunning voice and covers are one of the main highlights of her entertaining talk show, and the new season will thankfully include even more Kellyoke renditions. Other highlights for The Kelly Clarkson Show this season include guests such as First Lady Jill Biden, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, and an appearance from The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani. Sign us up!
“I can’t believe it’s already Season 4!" Clarkson said about the new season. "We are feeling so blessed by all the support we’ve received and are feeling so inspired and excited to keep connecting with y’all. I had a great summer off, but I missed my team and we are refueled and ready to have some fun and highlight some incredible stories and people!”
