NBC Nature Docuseries The Americas Announces a Making Of Peacock Special (DETAILS)

The 10-episode nature documentary is narrated by Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks and will have a "Making Of" special to give fans more insight.

The Americas is extending far beyond the borders of NBC. It has been confirmed that the jumbo-sized premiere of the ambitious nature docuseries will simulcast this Sunday on several other NBCUniversal-owned networks: Bravo, CNBC, E!, SYFY, and USA.

Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks (Forrest GumpSaving Private RyanToy Story) is featured as the narrator for the 10-episode event series, which covers the unique creatures, habitats, and ecosystems found throughout North and South America. We have also learned that a special behind-the-scenes documentary, The Making of The Americas, is set to bow on Peacock Monday, April 21. So, if you're curious about some of the awe-inspiring shots came to be, you're in luck.

The special features "Hanks and the crew revealing perils and breakthroughs behind the lens of this milestone nature series," reads the synopsis. "The special exploring the dedication, fieldcraft, humor, heart, and innovation that came together to create one of the most ambitious wildlife series ever produced."

"A ton of it is also just me reacting to this footage," Hanks said in a recent Today interview. "There are times where I cannot believe what I am looking at. There is not a moment of artificiality in there. Nothing has been CGI'd ... [You ask yourself], 'How long is someone bent over an eyepiece of a camera, saying, I think the bee is going to land where the other bee is'?"

What network in The Americas airing on?

The first two episodes of The Americas will debut this Sunday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. ET on NBCBravo, CNBC, E!, SYFY, and USA. Fans should stick around for the world premiere of Suits LA right after at 9:00 p.m. ET.

The Americas will begin to drop its remaining eight installments on a weekly basis every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET. Each episode will be available to stream next-day on Peacock. For complete scheduling information, click here!
