After 10 epic seasons on Chicago Fire, Sylvie Brett, who is played by Kara Killmer, will be departing the show. Her character's arch is coming to a conclusion after she adopted a baby girl named Julia and finally accepted the proposal from her on-again-off-again partner, Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer).

Kara Killmer's final episode of Chicago Fire will air on Wednesday, February 28 at 9/8c on NBC and will be available for streaming the next day on Peacock.
In Season 12, Episode 6, which is called ''Port in the Storm,'' Brett and Casey will officially tie the knot.
The logline for the episode reads: "Firehouse 51 welcomes back some familiar faces and says goodbye to Brett; Violet scrambles to decorate Brett's wedding venue; a call at the expo center takes a shocking turn."

In the Season 12 premiere, Brett told the Firehouse 51 squad that is is planning on moving to Portland to be with Casey, who departed the show in 2021.
"Matt and I talked it through and the truth is we've waited long enough to be together full-time," Brett said in the episode.
She then adopted baby Julia in Season 12, Episode 4, and the little girl has been welcomed by members of Firehouse 51 with open arms.

In a January interview with TVLine, showrunner Andrea Newman explained the creative choices behind why characters such as Brett are departing the show.
“Honestly, longevity is really just part of it. [In] storytelling and in terms of real life, 12 years is a long time and things need to change, just dynamic-wise. You want new characters and you want new dynamics. Actor-wise, 12 years is a long [time]. Nobody expects in TV [that] they’re going to be anywhere for 12 years, I can say that for sure, from all sides,” she told the outlet.
"To really get to arc these things out and see these characters change. But you need to mix it up. It can’t be the same the whole time. There’s still Boden at the helm and Severide and Kidd. It still feels very strong, and it still feels, because we’ll see Matt Casey, like most people who’ve been part of it are still part of it in lots of ways. So that’s lucky for us, too," she added.
