Jelly Roll Looks Way Different with Long Wavy Hair in This Dramatic Video
“I can’t believe I cut my curls!”
Jelly Roll is known for his tattoos and his signature style, typically consisting of a beard, baseball cap, chain necklaces, and a leather jacket. The Grammy-nominated country rocker’s look also used to feature long curly hair. Until, one day, he decided to chop it all off.

A couple years ago, when Jelly Roll would hit the stage, as he’s slated to do at NBC’s Opry 100: A Live Celebration, he had one of the most voluminous mullets you've ever seen. And the "Save Me" singer was proud of it. “I’m like a walking natural perm!” he told Taste of Country at the ACM Awards. “I pull this hat off and this mane just flows, dude!”
But in March 2023, as he shared in a TikTok video, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, was simply over his shoulder-length wavy hair.
Jelly Roll documented his dramatic haircut on TikTok: "Can't believe I did it man!"
“Have you ever woke up and felt like ‘f--- it’? That’s exactly how I woke up feeling this morning!” Jelly Roll says in the video, showing him brushing his hair in front of a mirror. He confirms with his barber that “we’re going all the way off” and then asks his wife, Bunnie XO, who he called “hair hater #1,” if she’s “excited” he’s cutting off his long hair.
“Bro, me and about 5,000 other women,” Bunnie XO tells her husband, who you can hear giggling from behind the camera. “All the ladies in my comments are talking about how beautiful you look with your hair cut, so I’m so excited.” In a comment to a fan, Jelly Roll shared that he’d been letting his hair grow out “for a few years” and only got an occasional trim or taper.
Once he’s in the chair and his barber sprayed his hair wet, Jelly Roll says with a chuckle that he was “second guessing this decision” and then gives Bunnie XO the honor of cutting off the first few inches. “Oh my god, look at it, dude!” he says as his hair hit the ground.
As his barber continues to cut his hair, Jelly Roll wasn’t quite used to his new style just yet. “That was weird, I went to flip my hair and it wasn’t there. I keep reaching back because I’m so used to twiddling it,” he says before jokingly asking, “Did I f--- up?”
It took a minute for Jelly Roll to fully accept his new look, as he recorded his cut hair on the floor. “Look at the curls, dude! The curls are still just curling!” he says while zooming in. “I can’t believe I cut my curls!”

The final look was fresh as ever, with shaved sides and trimmed up top section that he slicked back. “I did it, dude!” he said.
Bunnie XO also gave Jelly Roll’s new look her stamp of approval, writing on Instagram that she couldn’t keep her “paws” off him.
