Miranda Rae Mayo on Her Favorite Chicago Fire Scene With Eamonn Walker: "It Was Magnificent"
The actress reveals what she's learned from her co-star.
Chicago Fire is known for bringing the heat when it comes to plot and character development, and Chicago Fire Department member Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) has experienced a lot of personal and professional growth since joining the series in Season 4.
In a recent interview with NBC, Mayo revealed one of her favorite onscreen moments as Stella Kidd, from Season 9 Episode 15 "A White-Knuckle Panic." During the episode, Kidd shows her appreciation for Chief Wallace Boden, and how much his encouragement means to her.
“I loved the scene with Boden and me, where he’s telling Stella that he believes in her and that he thinks she can be a leader,” Mayo told NBC. “I had said, like, I wanted to be in more stuff with Eamonn [Walker], and then it happened.”
Mayo also spoke about how inspired she is by her Chicago Fire co-stars and expressed gratitude for getting the opportunity to learn from Walker. “It was magnificent,” she added of working alongside the veteran actor. “It’s been such a masterclass.”
Mayo certainly got her wish, as she and Walker have shared more and more scenes with each other in recent seasons. After all, Kidd even asked the Chief to walk her down the aisle in Season 10, further solidifying the depth of their friendship.
Chicago Fire Season 11 premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 9/8c on NBC and next day on Peacock.
