Why the AGT Judges Gave Malevo's 'Perfect' Act a Standing Ovation
"You brought beyond your A-game," Simon Cowell said.
Dance company Malevo blew the Judges away with their performance on America’s Got Talent: All-Stars.
Their high-energy, intricately-choreographed Malambo dance was performed in leather outfits in front of electrifying bright orange lighting. During their performance, they whipped around ropes in perfect precision and played drums in harmony. Towards the end of the dance, they even put the ropes in their mouth in one edgy trick!
“This is incredible!” Host Terry Crews shouted out in enthusiasm.
When the successful routine was over, the group gathered onstage to give each other emotional hugs. All the Judges even rose to give them a standing ovation.
“It is so intense, it is so…everything. And I can feel how much you wanna bring home that prize, how much you really want it; also, a little bit of your country, which I really love. I love you guys,” Heidi Klum gushed during the Judges' feedback.
“You are a memorable group. You brought more energy, your brought more live music, you are the perfect Act to have your own room in Vegas. I would imagine people would go and see this. And I think the super fans are gonna love you. You just made their job so hard tonight to pick one Act to go through,” Howie Mandel added.
“I think this was perfection. Genuinely. Honestly. As good as I’ve ever, ever seen. This is the standard everyone has to be in my opinion right now, honestly. You brought beyond your A-game,” Simon Cowell praised.
“I wish I could’ve given them a Golden Buzzer,” Cowell added when the group left the stage.
“I’m surprised Terry didn’t. If I was Terry, I would’ve given that last Act a Golden Buzzer,” Mandel commented.
“No question!” Cowell said.
We first saw the incredible Act Malevo on Season 11 of America’s Got Talent, but they were eliminated during the Semi-Finals. Their comeback has proven to be more than worth the wait.
America’s Got Talent: All-Stars features a whopping 60 Acts from the Got Talent franchise returning and competing. It premiered on Monday, January 2.
