Megan Thee Stallion Will Perform at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, Airing on NBC

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards are airing on NBC this year, and it's going to be a highly entertaining show. Of course, the primary draw is seeing which one of your favorite Artists will walk away with the evening's top prizes. (The Weeknd leads the pack with the most nominations, and he's followed closely behind by Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, and Olivia Rodrigo.) 

But there are more reasons to tune in besides the competitive awards. Mary J. Blige is receiving the Billboard Icon Award, an honor only 10 other Artists have gotten. And also: There will be performances. So many performances. 

The first group of entertainers taking the stage was announced on Tuesday, April 19. Megan Thee Stallion is performing, which will mark the official start of Hot Girl Summer. Others set to perform include Burna Boy, Latto, Rauw Alejandro, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. A wide range of music styles and genres will be represented during the ceremony. 

It remains unclear what Megan Thee Stallion will be performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. She teased a new song April 18th on Instagram, so perhaps she'll do that. There's also her collaboration with Dua Lipa, "Sweetest Pie," which reached number 15 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Regardless, she'll surely deliver something unforgettable. 

More performers for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards will be announced in time. The show airs Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
